Tortilla machines were stuffed with cash

Tortilla machines were stuffed with cash

HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - Someone in Columbia may be very anxious after ordering sixteen tortilla-rolling machines that have yet to arrive.

That would be because each of the machines was stuffed with nearly 40 thousand dollars in cash, and never made it past Cincinnati.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky international Airport in conjunction with international air carrier DHL made a shocking discovery very early Saturday morning.  While examining two separate shipments, manifested as roller machines, officers found over $600,000 in U.S. currency hidden within tortilla press machines.

On August 13, CBP officers inspected two shipments containing a total of eight tortilla rollers from Mexico.  During an x-ray examination, a CBP officer noticed an anomaly and upon drilling through the rollers of the press found a green and white substance that was consistent with paper money.

Spending Mega Millions prize may be no easy task

Spending Mega Millions prize may be no easy task

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - If you should happen to win the upcoming Mega Millions jackpot, and your goal is to use up all the money as fast as possible, you might want to move out of town.

If you are simply determined to dispose of the money, that's no problem.  You could donate it all to a leading university or hospital.  You could gamble it away around the world.  You could give it away a million at a time to people you met in bars.  If you asked a luxury shipbuilder to use it all on a yacht, they could oblige you.  You could buy the City of Cincinnati a streetcar system.

On the other hand, if you go shopping around the Tri-State at advertised prices, you might find that the money, which is an estimated $198.2 million if taken in cash, goes a long way.

We looked for a group of mostly Cincinnati-area items that a person could buy, and found it hard to use up the money.  For starters, we added up the price of the 50 most-expensive homes c

Fairfield mom shaves head for Bieber tickets

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Fairfield Township mother has a new 'do after she shaved her head in order to get tickets for a Justin Bieber concert.

Angie Neal won a contest sponsored by Kiss 107 FM. As part of the contest, she had to shave her head in order to receive backstage passes, soundcheck passes, and tickets.

Justin Bieber is playing a sold out concert at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday night.

As the razor removed Neal's chin-length blonde hair, she smiled and said she was nervous and couldn't believe she has won the contest.

"It's all for my daughter," she said.

Another part of the contest was that the person cutting her hair had to wear a beaver costume to symbolize the mis-pronunciation of Bieber's name.
