Highway work means more weekend backups on 75 in the Cut.

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - More highway work means another slow weekend on I-75 in the Cut in the Hill.  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet specifically says "EXPECT LONG DELAYS".

Here is their list of the lane and ramp closings:

I-71/I-75 NB (MP 186-191) CUT IN THE HILL IN KENTON COUNTY REVIVE THE DRIVE – NKY Interstate Project -  

Northbound I-75 – (Cut in the Hill) MP 186-191 - Over the weekend from Friday, June 10th beginning at 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM Monday, June 13th, traffic will be restricted to one lane between the Dixie Highway (Exit 188) and the Brent Spence Bridge. During this weekend closure, the entrance ramp from KY 1072 (Kyles Lane) to I-75 northbound,  the I-75 northbound exit ramp at 12th Street/MLK  Blvd.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Lane inspection on the Ohio side of the Ohio River will require closing the left two lanes of northbound Interstate 75 on the Brent Spence Bridge from midnight until 5 a.m. Thursday, June 9.  All exit lanes will remain open.

Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.

Distracted Driving (D2) Simulator coming to Northern Kentucky Water District

FRANKFORT, KY. (FOX19) --The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety is bringing its "D 2" (Distracted Driving) Simulator to Northern Kentucky water District employees on Thursday, June 9.

The "D 2" simulator gives real-life exposure to the dangers of distracted driving without putting teenagers at risk by mimicking and displaying the handling characteristics a vehicle.  Drivers can receive and send phone calls and text messages while attempting to obey the rules of the road.

HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that the section of Kentucky 20 know as Mile Hill Road has reopened.

It was closed for several weeks for repairs after a landslide.

Multiple road projects in Boone County this weekend

FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) - A number of highway projects continue in Boone County this week and weekend, but the one that causes the most problems for Boone Countians may be in the Cut in the Hill in Covington.

Here's information from the KYTC:

•     Work already in progress. Crews will be working during weekdays only beginning Sunday at 10 pm until Fridays at noon. No weekend work will take place.

Project Summary - The 18-mile project area extends from the I-71/I-75 interchange to the vicinity of Sparta Exit 57 (77.7 - 59.7 mile marker). The project is addressing base failures (potholes and ruts), repairing three slide areas and installing guardrail at various locations. Eaton Asphalt Paving Co. Inc., of Covington, Kentucky is the prime contractor.

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - A number of highway lanes will be closed in Boone County this weekend, and major work will have I-75 down to one lane in Kenton County near the Ohio River, causing long delays, while other work closes several ramps from 275 in Kenton County.

Weather adds to Boone County road work

BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Landslides caused by recent rains, plus work delays caused by rain this weekend are making for extra obstacles on Boone County roads, and in nearby parts of other counties.  Here's a list of them from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

•     KY 20 (Mile Hill Road) is closed from KY 8 to Hetzel Drive due to a slide, for approximately 2 weeks.
