Construction work to complicate life on KY 237

SOUTHGATE, KY (FOX19)- Spots along Camp Ernst and Pleasant Valley Roads are now home to road work that may slow things down but shouldn't close the roads.  There will also be intermittent closings Sunday on I-75 in Grant County.  For those headed north, weekend construction is resuming at the Cut-in-the Hill on I-75, which may be worse for many people in Boone County than anything that's actually happening in the county.

Here is the newest list of what's going on in Boone and neighboring counties from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

BOONE COUNTY 

  • KY 237 (Camp Ernst) at Rogers Lane – Crews have begun construction on a left hand turn lane on KY 237 NB to Rogers Lane.  The turning lane is expected to be operational before Boone County Schools begin the school year.  While KY 237 will remain open, motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) – After staying off the roadways for the Fourth of July and NASCAR weekends, workers will be back on duty at summer road projects this weekend.

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Weekend travelers in Northern Kentucky will get a break through July 10th because the state is not going to close any lanes during the fourth of July weekend, nor the weekend when NASCAR races including the first local Sprint Cup race are being held at Kentucky Speedway.

Coast Guard and others looking for BUI suspects this weekend

LOUISVILLE (FOX19)  – The Coast Guard, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Agency and the Louisville Metro Police Department will partner in an intensified nationwide effort to detect intoxicated boaters and enforce Boating Under the Influence laws on the Ohio River from Friday through Sunday.

Coordinated by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, Operation Dry Water will include increased patrols from Evansville, Ind., to Cincinnati, Ohio, in order to reduce the number of alcohol and drug related accidents and fatalities on the Ohio River.

Virtually all navigable waters in this stretch of the Ohio River are in Kentucky.

Expect delays as I-75 is reduced to one lane this weekend

FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) - If you enjoyed waiting in traffic on I-75 near the Brent Spence Bridge recently, you'll really love it this weekend.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says its resurfacing of North 75 in the Cut in the Hill will reduce the highway to one lane.  As they have been saying, "expect long delays".

Toyota workers cleaning up highway 237 Saturday

HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 6 says that the Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. will be participating in the Adopt -A-Highway Summer Scrub.  Employees will be picking up litter on their section of adopted highway KY 237, this Saturday, June 11, 2011, beginning approximately at 8:00 am.

The section adopted by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. begins at KY 20 to Gateway Blvd. (7.9 – 9.4 mile marker).  Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
