"Jungle" to grow in Union Township

FAIRFIELD (FOX19) - An eccentric Greater Cincinnati institution is about to take root in a new location.  Jungle Jim's International Market will open a second location in Clermont County.

The new store will occupy the site of the original biggs store at 4450 Eastgate Boulevard, in the old biggs Place Mall in Union Township.  That was one of a number of locations of that chain that closed before or during its acquisition by Remke Stores last year.

Jungle Jim's owner, founder, and namesake Jim Bonaminio had previously talked about opening a second store off Markbreit Avenue near the Norwood Lateral in Oakley, but the project that was supposed to include the store fell through.

When the Eastgate biggs' closed, a campaign immediately arose to convince Jungle Jim's to open a location in the old store.  A Facebook page, "Bring Jungle Jim's to Biggs Plaza"  had already attracted 23-hundred members as of this morning.
