Florence Verizon retail store receives LEED certification

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19)  - The recently opened “evolution” communications store in Florence, KY is now one of more than 100 Verizon Wireless retail stores nationwide to have received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The Communications Store with LEED certification, located at 7533 Mall Road, optimizes water and energy use, enhances indoor environmental quality and reduces waste through specifications and responsible procurement and construction practices, including energy savings, material reuse, phone recycling and paperless billing.

Each LEED-certified Verizon Wireless Communications Store is expected to deliver, on average, the following environmental benefits and associated cost savings:

RABBIT HASH, KY (FOX19) - A new creative collective has sprouted out of Northern Kentucky called Folksiders.

Folksiders is a consortium of artists, musicians, crafters, bakers, dealers, designers, and finders.  cofounders Susan Utley and Jarrod Becker wanted to take their lifestyle and love for beauty found in wonderful, wild, old and interesting things and turn it into something they could share through an art market experience.  They have gathered a core of creative folk and will be featuring them along with a monthly group of selected artisans to feature their food, findings and wares.

There will be booths scattered throughout the little river town featuring homemade and handcrafted items of pottery, jewelry, fine art, paper items, and delectable fare along with live music and antiques.

HEBRON, KY (FOX19) -  A national candy store chain adds CVG to their list of hubs for plane travelers to satisfy candy cravings.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has welcomed Natalie’s Candy Jar to Concourse B as part of the concession revitalization project, which is expected to be complete by spring 2013.

Natalie’s Candy Jar offers a large bulk selection of candies and chocolates for all ages as well as a generous assortment of sugar-free treats, nuts and health conscious trail mixes. In addition, high quality, premium international and domestic boxed chocolates are offered, as well as other unique candy related gift items.

"Golden Ticket" may lead to new Verizon device at store opening

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - A "golden opportunity" is waiting for customers at the upcoming grand-opening of a Verizon store.

Beginning at noon on Saturday, July 28, Verizon Wireless will officially welcome the company's newly relocated store in Florence.

To help celebrate the new location, the first 100 customers to visit the store starting at noon will receive a specially-wrapped chocolate bar. One of the bars will have a "golden ticket" inside that will award the recipient a 4G LTE smartphone - the Samsung Galaxy SIII™ or a 4G LTE tablet-the Xyboard 10.1 Tablet by Motorola.

 In addition, City Barbeque will be serving lunch starting at noon and the Ben-Gals Cheerleaders will be signing autographs from noon to 1 p.m.

The Verizon Wireless store is located at 7533 Mall Road.

Folksiders is a consortium of artists, musicians, crafters, bakers, dealers, designers, and finders.  Co-Founders Susan Utley and Jarrod Becker wanted to take their lifestyle and love for beauty found in wonderful, wild, old and interesting things and turn it into something they could share through an art market experience. 

The first event took place on June 10 and the next is scheduled for July 8 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

They have gathered a core of creative folk and will be featuring them along with a monthly group of selected artisans to feature their food, findings and wares.
