Home & Remodeling Showcase this weekend Friday at NKY Convention Center

 

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19)-  The 39th annual Home & Remodeling Showcase will run from February 10th through the 12th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center located on One West RiverCenter Blvd in Covington Kentucky.  The show is presented by Arronco Comfort Air and Remke biggs and is produced by the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky.

Official sponsors include Softub, Legacy Kitchens, Stegman Landscape & Tree, J& D Basement Systems, and Visionary Design & Remodeling. The show is one of the only locally produced home shows in the region. This year’s show will feature many changes as the show grows from a simple product and service exposition to a real lifestyle show. 

Show hours are Friday February 10- 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Saturday February 11- 10  a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday February 12- 10  a.m.-4 p.m.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Five local Target stores are offering Twi-Hards a sneak peek at a world-premier scene featuring Edward and Bella from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.”  During the exclusive scene, fans will see Bella as a vampire for the first time and a clue from Alice will be revealed – unveiling a major plot point from the fifth and final film. A special greeting from cast members will round out the exclusive preview.  

Then, at midnight guests can get their hands on a flower from the movie’s famed wedding scene when they purchase the Target exclusive Limited-Collector’s Edition DVD, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” (on sale for $24.99 during the event and all-day Saturday, Feb. 11) that includes an authentic prop flower beautifully encased in an acrylic keepsake.  

The event starts Friday 11 p.m. through midnight on Saturday, Feb.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH AND FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Sears Outlet will be collecting canned goods, blankets and coats to benefit the less fortunate.  Items can be dropped off at either of the local Sears Outlet locations including the Cincinnati Location at 10200 Colerain Avenue in Colerain Township and the Florence location at 51 Spiral Drive.  (Another outlet in Speedway Indiana is also participating).

Items can be dropped off anytime between now and January 21st and to thank those that help, Sears Outlet will reward them with a 5% shopping pass good for Saturday January 21st. 

All items collected at the Florence and Cincinnati Locations will benefit the Drop-Inn Center in Over-the-Rhine.

Gov. Beshear declares ‘Small Business Saturday’ in Kentucky

KY (FOX19) - In an effort to encourage Kentuckians to shop locally and support Kentucky business, Governor Steve Beshear today declared Saturday, November 26, 2011 as “Small Business Saturday” in Kentucky.

Small Business Saturday, which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, supports the national movement to drive consumers to shop at local and independently owned businesses during the heaviest shopping weekend of the year.

 “Small businesses create thousands of jobs for Kentuckians and are the heart of our Commonwealth’s economy,” Gov. Beshear said. “I strongly encourage everyone this upcoming weekend to help boost local economies and purchase unique Kentucky gifts at independently owned shops and businesses.”

Small businesses are critical to the nation’s overall economy as well. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there were nearly 28 million small businesses in the United States last year.

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Shoppers are already putting together their black Friday plans in the Tri-State. 

Hungry shoppers are prepared to stand in line for hours looking for the big bargain. Store stock rooms are filled with the prized presents that these folks covet. And once they hit the store shelves its a mad dash to save cash.

The theme of this one day is anything and everything - Christmas- and those who partake in the Friday frenzy swear by its allure.
