Free weather spotter training class in Boone County | News
BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Learn how to spot when severe weather is moving into your area at a free training class.
Boone County Emergency Management is sponsoring a Severe Weather Spotter training class presented by The National Weather Service on Wednesday, February 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The class will be held at the Boone County Public Safety Campus located at 3000 Conrad Lane in Burlington, Kentucky.
The Severe weather spotter training is part of the StormReady program sponsored by the National Weather Service. StormReady recognizes communities that have taken steps to strengthen severe weather mitigation, preparedness, and response and recovery capabilities.
The instruction, which is open to the public, focuses on learning to recognize and identify severe weather conditions and patterns and report them to the National Weather Service.
Class space is limited so those interested are urged to call Boone County Emergency Management at (859) 334-2279 early to ensure a seat.
