Thinking about College This Fall? Apply Now for Gateway Scholarships | News
EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) - If going to college is on your agenda this fall, the time to apply for a scholarship is now.
Gateway Community and Technical College offers 32 different categories of scholarships for many types of students. The deadline for application is April 1.
“A 4.0 grade point average isn’t always required,” said Will Bradley, Gateway coordinator of financial aid and scholarships. “We have scholarships targeted for single parents, minority students, and students with a ‘C’ average who show academic promise. Only one thing is certain – if you don’t apply, you won’t get one.”
In addition to general scholarships for students in any major, Gateway provides a variety of scholarships to students in specific disciplines, such as advanced manufacturing, electrical technology, computer-assisted drafting and design, education, nursing and allied health.
In addition, Gateway has tuition-assistance funds available from a federal grant specifically for low-income students interested in certain allied health careers.
Gateway’s scholarship application is available at http://www.gateway.kctcs.edu/en/Financial_Aid/Scholarships.aspx . The webpage includes a list of all Gateway scholarships, eligibility requirements and tips on how to complete and submit an application.
For more information, contact Will Bradley at William.bradley@kctcs.edu or call toll-free 1-855-3GO-GCTC and select the financial aid option.
