COVINGTON, KY (FOX19)- An eight-county, Northern Kentucky Point-In-Time count of homeless men, women, children and families living in shelters, on the
streets, and other places not meant for human habitation is being held on Wednesday.
The count is coordinated
by the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, Brighton Center and NorthKey Community Care.
The count will also include precariously
housed Northern Kentuckians, defined as people living in substandard housing
conditions, doubled- or tripled-up with family or friends, or expecting
eviction within fourteen days.
The count is taking place during a 24-hour period that ends at 11:59 on Wednesday night at various locations throughout Northern Kentucky.
The count
helps determine how much funding will be available for homeless assistance in
the state. In addition, the count helps
assess progress under Kentucky's Ten-Year
Plan to End Homelessness and provides important information for updating
the plan.
