FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - If you have diabetes, the Northern Kentucky Health Department’s diabetes program is holding free courses for you to learn more about the disorder.

A three-session diabetes self-management course will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, January 15, 22 and 29, 2013, at the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Blvd. The classes will run for three weeks.

Registration for this series of classes is required. A free dinner and a diabetes toolkit will be provided at the last class in the series to those who attend all three classes.

Topics will include: what is diabetes, healthy eating, preventing complications and more. The classes will be led by a Registered Nurse/Certified Diabetes Educator and a Registered Dietitian from the Health Department.
