NORTHERN KY (FOX19) - The Salvation Army Community Centers in Northern Kentucky, located in Covington and Newport and including all of Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, announced on Thursday that they have a growing, unmet need for toys for local children.
The two local Community Centers operated by The Salvation Army have long implemented Christmas programs to ensure that local families in need can experience a more joyful Christmas. This year, The Salvation Army in Northern Kentucky expects to serve more than 2,200 children with some form of Christmas Assistance.
“It’s an important part of what we do as an organization to provide Christmas presents for these children,” stated Capt. Heather Holt, pastor at The Salvation Army in Covington, KY. “Currently, our need is greater than the number of toys and gifts we’ve been able to collect, so we’re hoping we can get the word out and people will come forward to help out.”
