RICHWOOD, KY (FOX19) - Just in time for Christmas, Gold Star Chili will host a reception for Northern Kentucky native Cpl Chad Ford and 30 of his friends and family. Cpl Ford is visiting home for the holidays after his recent return from a second tour of duty in Afghanistan. He will report back to active duty to Camp LeJeune, NC.
Ford is a 2008 graduate from Simon Kenton high school where he played both football and baseball. He enlisted with the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school He will be joined for the holiday event Thursday by his mother, Michelle Ford and stepfather, Kenny Picciriilo, his brother, Derek and sister, Amber as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gold Star Chili will host Cpl Ford and his family and friends as a thank you for his commitment and service to our country. The celebration is part of Gold Star’s Serving Our Troops program to honor returning soldiers and their families. To date, Gold Star has recognized nearly 150 service men and women and served more than 2,500 complimentary meals to honor them.
