COVINGTON, KY (FOX19)  – Gateway Community and Technical College is observing Black History month with activities designed to appeal to students, the community, job-seekers and more.

“Celebrating the contributions of African Americans to U.S. society enables us not only to pay homage to Black History, but also allows us to emphasize that  everyone is welcome on our campuses,” said Michael Lee, Gateway director of inclusion and cultural initiatives.

Gateway will host Super Sunday, a minority recruitment fair, Feb. 24, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Urban Center. Members of Gateway faculty and staff will provide information on admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and academic programs. The event is free and open to the public.

The college will continue its events in the spirit of Black History month by hosting a Diversity Career and Job Fair at the Urban Center March 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The event will be co-hosted by the NAACP Northern Kentucky Branch.

“Not only do we want everyone in the community to feel welcome at Gateway, we also want them to know about the programs and services we offer that can give them a fresh start or a leg up to reach their education and career goals,” Lee said. “These activities provide multiple opportunities for people to learn more about Gateway.”

For more information about any of the events, contact Lee at (859) 815-7799 or michael.lee@kctcs.edu.
