EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) - St. Elizabeth Healthcare, has introduced its comprehensive report to the community at large. The 52-page publication features a combination of stories from patients, employees and community supporters, as well as operation and economic impact information. These stories outline the progress and history of an organization that has grown during the past 150 years to emerge as a vital part of the local community.
From small beginnings as a ten-bed hospital built into a former grocery store in Covington, St. Elizabeth has become Northern Kentucky's largest employer, with more than 7,300 associates in multiple locations, generating close to $450 million in payroll and more than $1 billion in total revenue in 2011. Between 2008 and 2010, St. Elizabeth Healthcare made more than $150 million in capital investments in the region. According to the Center for Economic Analysis and Development at the Northern Kentucky University College of Business, St. Elizabeth contributes $1.8 billion total economic impact to the Greater Cincinnati market and supports 12,000 jobs in our region.
