Bluegrass and a singer/songwriter at the library this month | Arts & Culture

BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Boone County Public Library’s “Live @ the Library” free concert series brings a newcomer to the stage this month. Brittany Gillstrap will perform at the Main Library, 1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington, on Friday, February 10 at 7 p.m. Brittany is a 19 year old singer-songwriter from Glencoe, who has won numerous local talent contests. Most recently, she was the winner of Boone County Public Library’s teen Battle of the Bands. As part of her prize for winning the contest, she has been invited to showcase her original blend of sweetness and soul on the stage at the Main Library. Brittany’s talents promise to take her far. Don’t miss your chance to say you saw her perform before she was a big star!

The music doesn’t here, the ever-popular Comet Bluegrass All-Stars return to light up the Florence Branch, 7425 US 42, Florence, on Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m. Fronted by veteran songster, Ed Cunningham, this award-winning band from Cincinnati has been playing together since 1996 and has opened for such acts as Sam Bush, Blue Highway, Del McCoury, and Ricky Skaggs.  Their shows are always lively affairs leaving the audience wanting more!
