BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A Northern Kentucky man has been found guilty in the death of his infant daughter.

Benjamin Senseman has been convicted of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal abuse by a Boone County jury. His wife, Laura, was acquitted in this case.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the guilty verdict and acquittal were returned after nearly 4½ hours of deliberations.

Dr. Gregory Wanger, state medical examiner for Northern Kentucky, testified Wednesday that the fatal injury was a blow to the head and couldn't have happened from routine handling.

Defense: Toddler unruly, didn't want sibling

BURLINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Attorneys for a northern Kentucky couple accused of killing their infant daughter have called several witnesses in an attempt to show that a 2-year-old sibling may be responsible.

A baby sitter for the boy testified Thursday that he became more unruly during his mother's pregnancy and "started acting out" by throwing toys, hitting and kicking.

Prosecutors allege that 32-year-old Benjamin Senseman is responsible for the death of his 2-month-old daughter, Chloe. Prosecutors say they charged 35-year-old Laura Senseman because she knew or should have known about previous injuries to the baby.

Dr. Gregory Wanger, state medical examiner for Northern Kentucky, testified Wednesday that the fatal injury was a blow to the head and couldn't have happened from routine handling. He said it was very unlikely that a toddler would be able to cause the injuries.
