Amazing Race Champions

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Mrs. Simms’ second grade class completed their Accelerated Reader race by going beyond the requirements with each student striving for their own personal best.  Her class earned 1697 points.  That is 447 points above the final point value.

The theme this year was “The Amazing Race” which focused on being mentally and physically ready to run your own race.  The students prepared mentally and the classroom incentives engaged the students in the physical challenges.  Starting off, the class participated in a series of physical exercises. The repetitions were determined by the roll of the dice before putting the movements to music.  The students also enjoyed a healthy snack mix and learned the many benefits of dark chocolate.
